Buffalo Chicken Wings

This is my offering for the week, a very simple recipe that I've been using for over 20 yrs now. It's a family favorite and often requested for birthday meals.

Rinse wings, salt and pepper them, and then roll in flour (or do it the Southern way; put your flour in a paper bag, add the chicken wings and shake).

While your wings are frying you can make the sauce.

1 6oz bottle hot sauce (any variety will do, Louisiana, Texas Pete, Crystal River, ect)
1 stick of butter or margarine
1 tbsp of vinegar

In a pan deep enough for dipping (not to shallow) melt the butter and pour in the hot sauce, then add the vinegar. Stir to mix well.

Once the wings are done you simply dip them. The longer they stay in the sauce the hotter they'll be. You can also make them a little hotter by reducing the amount of butter you use. If you want them milder simply add more butter.

Needless to say this recipe is not for anyone trying to watch they weight.

Whoever started marketing chicken wings was a genius. I don't know what they did with them before all the smart cooks starting using them all up in Buffalo wing recipes. This sounds so good and spicy

Oh my husband would love this. My Mom used to raise chickens, I think of the wings as one of the parts you toss out! Lori is right --whoever started cooking and dipping them was indeed a genius!

So that's a pretty easy recipe - I'm going to give it a try. I know that Jacob and his friends will go "wild" for these! ~ Robyn
