Prayer Shawl

I crochet a lot! I always have excess yarn that I am trying to figure out how to use up. I had a whole skein of Caron's One Pounder and decided to see if I could make a shawl from it. I didn't particularly need a shawl but thought I might be able to sell it at the farmer market.

I recently joined the quilting group at our church, turns out it's more of a needle arts club because some of the ladies also knit and crochet. The women's minister is trying to start up a prayer shawl ministry so that those who don't quilt can contribute something made with their skills.

So it was fortuitous timing that I had finished this shawl about a week before I joined. I donated it to the ministry yesterday. I am really pleased with how it turned out. It’s dimensions are gracious and I got fringe and all from one skein of yarn.
